Preserving and promoting valuable assets

SaarSupport for the Saar rescue dog unit
EC Bioenergie steps in wherever people and the environment need support. The BRH Rettungshundestaffel Saar e. V. is a rescue dog unit that provides assistance when people are missing or in danger following accidents. The volunteers and their rescue dogs carry out vital missions day and night, showing a level of dedication that has deeply impressed us. That’ is why we support the unit by providing wood pellets for the pellet stove in the meeting and training room.
A project day full of energy
During the project days at the Schlossbergschule Dotternhausen primary school, a group of pupils chose the topic “Renewable Energy” and visited the Dotternhausen pellet plant. After a visit to the forest and a chat with the forester, the children learnt at the plant how wood pellets are made from wood waste and why wood is a sustainable energy source.
The quality manager explained the process, from drying the wood chips through to pressing the pellets, and showed the children the plant, the biomass combined heat and power station, and the local heating network, which also supplies the school with heat.
Pellet heating for responsible education
The Internationale Schulbauernhof Hardegsen is an educational farm to which we donate ten tonnes of wood pellets annually from our nearby pellet plant – enabling it to save around 50% on its energy costs.
The farm enables, children, young people and adults to experience nature and sustainability through hands-on activities. In projects supported by educational staff, they learn about ecological, social and economic interrelationships and develop skills for the responsible use of natural resources.

Frequently Asked Questions
For us, responsibility also means being open and transparent in the way we operate. That’s why we select our project partners carefully, are clear about where our support is directed, and provide regular insights into the impact of our involvement. Trust is built when people can see that their support is making a difference – and that’s precisely what matters to us.
We are committed to environmental education to help strengthen awareness of personal responsibility in the present and spread knowledge among future generations about climate and resource protection.
We give priority to supporting social projects in the regions where our production sites are located. In this way, we ensure that we have an impact precisely where our company has its roots – with direct help for local people.
If your company or organisation is a social enterprise or is actively involved in environmental education, we would be delighted to hear from you. Email: info@bioenergie-heidelberg.de.
We give priority to projects that empower people, promote sustainable thinking and make a positive contribution to our regions. Please feel free to send us details of your project – we will carefully review every enquiry and get back to you as soon as possible. Together, we can do more.
We receive many valuable enquiries – and we greatly appreciate every single one. Nevertheless, there may be occasions when we decide not to provide support. This is not due to the quality of the project, but because it does not fully meet our criteria.
We give priority to social initiatives and environmental education projects that:
- are rooted in the local area near our production sites,
- have a clear connection to the environment, climate or social impact,
- create a demonstrable benefit for the target group.
If a project does not meet these requirements or we have already exhausted our capacity, we may have to decline a request.
No. Our donations and social initiatives are funded entirely from internal company resources and do not affect the prices of our products.
At the same time, we would like to be clear: Every product you buy from us strengthens our company – and thus enables us to continue providing sufficient funds to support social and environmental projects in the future.
So, whilst your purchase does not directly contribute to the donation, it helps us to grow as a company and do more good in the long term.
We make a conscious effort to ensure our activities are transparent and easy to follow. On our website, we regularly share insights into our current projects and publish updates on our work.
